The Education Policy and Innovation Conference 2023 (EPIC 2023), organized by the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER), the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO), the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization – Regional Center for Educational Innovation and Technology (SEAMEO INNOTECH), the UNESCO Asia and Pacific Regional Bureau for Education, took place online during June 6-8, 2023.
In the words of the organizers, “EPIC 2023 brought together government officials, researchers, practitioners, members of the donor community, civil society, and the private sector to share their research and knowledge on education policy and innovation with other countries in the EAP region. It provides a unique opportunity to connect people in different countries working on similar thematic priorities to convene and exchange their diverse experiences and expertise on an education topic.”
EPIC 2023 built upon EPIC 2021’s success with a demand-driven program addressing key thematic priorities for the KIX EAP region:
- 21st-century skills
- Scaling education innovations
- COVID-19 and education
- Teaching and professional development
- Early childhood care and education
- Use of data for education planning
- Gender equity and inclusion
- Use of technology in education
- Learning and assessment.
The Vietnam Association for Nonpublic Preschool Education (VANPPE) is honored to be selected to present the cases of digital transformation in early childhood education (ECE) in Vietnam in the Panel on “Improving coverage and quality in early childhood education” at EPIC 2023. VANPPE representative Dau Thuy Ha presented conference participants with overview of ECE in Vietnam; the speed, KPI and challenges of digital transformation in the country’s education sector and encouraging initial success.
