Vietnam’s edtech ecosystem is gaining a stronger presence in Southeast Asia. In the HolonIQ 2026 Southeast Asia EdTech 50 list, Vietnam ranks second in the region by the number of selected companies, with 9 Vietnamese startups accounting for 18% of the cohort. HolonIQ also notes that Early Childhood Education reached its highest representation in the list to date, at 8% (vnexpress.net).
For VANPPE, this is particularly encouraging because technology is increasingly becoming part of the development of Vietnam’s early childhood education sector.
One example is KidsOnline, a Vietnamese edtech platform designed specifically for kindergartens. Its focus is not simply on introducing technology into schools, but on addressing practical needs in everyday kindergarten operations: from managing children, teachers and tuition to supporting communication and information sharing between schools and families (Kids Online).
KidsOnline’s continued recognition by HolonIQ is particularly noteworthy. The platform has been included in the Southeast Asia EdTech 50 for three consecutive years, from 2024 to 2026 (Kids Online).
Why does this matter? Early childhood education has very specific needs. Technology needs to be simple, practical and closely connected to the daily work of teachers, school leaders and families. The experience of KidsOnline illustrates how a solution developed in Vietnam can respond to these local needs while gaining recognition in a regional edtech landscape.
From VANPPE’s perspective, the growth of Vietnamese EdTech is therefore more than a technology story. It is an opportunity to build better connections between schools, teachers and families, improve educational management, and create more supportive environments for young children.
